Doula | Educator | Speaker
My name is Gabrielle Griffith, and I am a parent, full-circle care doula, perinatal mental health support worker, sex educator, childbirth educator (in training) and, public speaker.
Through lived experiences and education, I support new parents to find pleasure and achieve balance during their transition into parenthood.
My career started with the birth of my first child. I became pregnant and everything started to change for me as I blossomed from child to caregiver. As I navigated the healthcare system, I couldn’t help but notice the gaps. I wanted things to be different so I chose to become a Doula. I started my journey in 2017 as a Birth Doula because my own birthing experience in the hospital was traumatic and I wanted to learn how to support people during that vulnerable time and advocate against obstetric violence. After about a year in the field as Birth Doula, I realized that only offering birth support wasn’t enough and I started my journey into full-circle doula care.
My passions lie in helping parents find pleasure and achieve balance during their transition into parenthood, and ensure that they are connected with the community to support them along the way. Once you’re postpartum, you’re always postpartum and parents need to be nurtured too. I am truly obsessed with learning more about how to support families in marginalized communities.
I am now beginning my journey as a Childbirth Educator, as well as an Assaulted Women and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate.
